Buffalo Steel Name Tommy Kotsopoulos Head Coach and General Manager

The Buffalo Steel are excited to announce the hiring of Tommy Kotsopoulos as the organization's new Head Coach and General Manager.

For Kotsopoulos, hockey has been a lifelong passion. Growing up in Unionville, Ontario, he worked his way through the highly competitive Ontario hockey system before spending three seasons in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves. From there, he built a professional career that took him across North America, competing in leagues including the CHL, ECHL, UHL, and SPHL.

Throughout his playing days, Kotsopoulos was known as the type of player every team wanted in its locker room. He played the game with intensity, embraced the physical side of hockey, and earned the respect of teammates and opponents alike through his work ethic and leadership. Those experiences have shaped the coach he is today.

"Tommy understands what it takes to succeed in this game because he's lived it," said President Joe Tarpy. "He's played at high levels, he's been through the ups and downs of a hockey career, and he genuinely cares about helping young players develop. We're thrilled to have him leading our program."

As Head Coach and General Manager, Kotsopoulos will oversee all aspects of the Buffalo Steel's hockey operations, including player recruitment, roster management, and player development. His vision is centered around creating a culture where players are challenged, supported, and given every opportunity to reach their potential.

"I'm excited to join the Buffalo Steel and be a part of building something special," said Kotsopoulos. "This organization has a great foundation, and I'm looking forward to working with players who are hungry to improve and take the next step in their hockey careers. My goal is to create an environment where players can develop as athletes, teammates, and people."

With years of experience, a deep knowledge of the game, and a passion for developing young athletes, Kotsopoulos is ready to lead the next chapter of Buffalo Steel hockey.
